Hi readers, welcome to the first issue of Filter!
First up, a big thanks to all who signed up during the online promotion and those of you who found us via our great ads
in the various audio publications. We knew the six-armed iPod lass would get people’s attention. We are truly overwhelmed
by the response, and have more people signed up than we could have ever imagined. This is great news for us, as it strengthens
our belief that the audio industry is itching to stay in touch with news of what is going on locally and internationally.
We aim to deliver to you an interesting publication, one that you will enjoy checking out each month.
Make it Your Own!
We here at Filter are keen to hear from you guys, so please feel free to drop us a line at email@example.com.
We will consider publishing messages we receive in a special letters column, so if there is anything you would like to get
off your chest, or just let others know, send it through. Likewise, if you have any suggestions on ways to improve Filter,
we are all ears (handy in this industry). We do want to make Filter relevant, interesting and as humorous as we can, so
please, please, please, as you see from that previous gag we need all the help we can get.
Hey, we also want to begin a war stories column. So if any of you have some horror stories of life on the road, or gigs
from hell, send them on in. This could prove to be a hilarious addition to Filter. Once we have a collection, we shall begin
to publish them. Be creative, um, what’s that expression? Don’t let the truth stand in the way of a good story…
OK, the iPod winners:
Well if you were hanging on to know if you won an iPod, sorry to say but you would already have it by now! Yep, the prize
was drawn last month under supervision and we are pleased to announce the winners:
Catriona Strom from Australian Audio News
Gavin Hulme from Bishop Audio
John Robertson from Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (pictured below)
Rowel Sardea from Harry The Hirer (pictured below)
We’re sure the winners will get many hours of listening pleasure from these cool little fellas (the 20 Gig iPod, that
is). Thanks guys for entering the competition, we hope you enjoy!
